Why do I need an approval layer at all?+
AI agents make email decisions faster than humans can review them. Without an approval layer, your agent can send an email you didn’t mean to send, archive something important, or delete a thread you needed. Nuvrail stages every action before it executes. You see the diff. You approve or reject. Then it sends.
Does Nuvrail read my email content?+
No. Nuvrail inspects IMAP and SMTP commands — the instructions your AI agent is about to execute — not the email body content. We see “send this email,” not the email itself.
What email providers work with Nuvrail?+
Nuvrail is a provider-agnostic IMAP/SMTP proxy. It works with Gmail, Outlook, Fastmail, ProtonMail, and any provider that supports standard IMAP/SMTP. No provider lock-in.
What AI agents work with Nuvrail?+
Any agent that supports IMAP/SMTP — Claude, GPT-4, custom LLM integrations. We are agent-agnostic. If your agent can send email, Nuvrail can intercept and stage the action.
Can I self-host and avoid all pricing?+
Yes. The core Nuvrail proxy is open source (MIT license). Self-hosting gives you unlimited everything. What you give up: the managed cloud dashboard, priority support, and our cloud audit log infrastructure. View on GitHub.
What happens to my audit log if I cancel?+
You can export your full audit log at any time. After cancellation, logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted. Self-hosted users own their own data with no restrictions.
Is Nuvrail SOC 2 certified?+
Not yet. SOC 2 Type II is on our roadmap. If compliance documentation is a hard requirement for your procurement process, reach out at hello@nuvrail.com.
